It’s hard to over-emphasize the role played by Adrian Sherwood in the development of underground British music over the last four decades. A dub producer by trade, Sherwood rose to prominence in the 1980s by combining collaborations with Jamaican artists – Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry, Mikey Dread and Prince Far-I included – and production work for an impressive array of post-punk era bands and artists, conjuring up cuts that variously joined the dots between dub, electro, industrial funk and alternative rock. Over the years, the influential On-U-Sound Records founder has worked with artists including Primal Scream, Depeche Mode, The Pop Group, The Slits, The Fall and Cabaret Voltaire. For his live performance at No Bounds, Sherwood will be working with Cabs collaborator Nick Cope, a pioneering video scratch performer known for providing visuals for the legendary Sheffield band’s performances. He’ll be recapturing the spirit of those halcyon days during Sherwood’s must-see performance.
