Charla Green’s sets tend to reach the point of no return fairly quickly.
The Sheffield producer and DJ came up through breakbeat, jungle and free-party culture, and you can hear all three in the way she plays: rolling drums, dubwise space, amens that hit like fireworks.
She's been dropping dancefloor destroyers for nearly a decade, for labels including UK Jungle Records, Deep in the Jungle, and Digital’s Function Records. Unauthorised Passenger carried the psychedelic mischief of her work with Off Me Nut, while All This Love revealed a warmer vocal side. Tracks made with Digital and the 160 Jungle EP show an understanding of the hardcore continuum without ever being in thrall to its history. No Bounds premiered her live show in 2024.
This year, she's back behind the decks for the Off Me Nut x Wub Club afterparty, surrounded by the Sheffield crews that helped shape her sound. Expect elbows-out breaks dissolving into pockets of sweetness, and the sort of bass that seems to lift you off the floor. By the time the lights come up, you'll definitely have lost your phone, maybe your mind.
