Born in Sheffield and inspired by the freedom of festivals, Funky Drummer is an immersive night that merges live music and electronic club sounds. Named after Brown’s iconic 1970 track ‘Funky Drummer’- and the most sampled drum breaks in history- the events host live bands amongst DJ’s in high energy club nights. Over the past two years they have held entirely sold-out shows with legendary live artists including London Afrobeat Collective, K.O.G, Dele Sosimi, Coco Maria and WheelUp. Funky Drummer frequently collaborates with friends La Rumba and Phonetics in a collective that spans generations of wicked parties in Sheffield and beyond. Together they focus on global flavours that includes afrobeats, afro-latin house, broken-beat and drum and bass.
