Somewhere between the studio session, the cypher, and the rave sits Steeze Factory: a loose Sheffield network where those at the vanguard share the mic with people still working out their first sixteen.
Built around Toddla T’s studio and the collaborative Steeze Factory Vol. 1 project, it has grown through parties, podcasts, releases and packed live sessions. The format stays deliberately open. One beat passes between half a dozen MCs. A nervous first verse turns into the bar everyone is shouting ten minutes later. The edges are rough, because you find the energy in friction.
Grime, bassline, dancehall, garage, hip-hop and drum and bass all feed into the Factory, drawing a direct line between Sheffield’s low-end history and the next wave coming through. Recent cyphers have rediscovered the pressure that made early grime so addictive: crowded rooms, fast handovers, no chance to hide behind the beat. Artists including Aitch, Window Kid, and Saint Ludo have moved through the platform alongside emerging local voices from Suggz to Sheffield’s AJ and of course our top dons. Coco and K Dot!
At No Bounds, expect the best kind of chaos. The running order may become increasingly theoretical. Just keep your eyes on the mic.
