The Shits have spent close to a decade making noise rock with the patience of doom and the manners of a pub fight. The Leeds six-piece grind songs down until they become monolithic: drums close off the exits and feedback fills every space as vocalist Callum Howe prowls above it all.
Punishment established the method in 2020. You’re A Mess burnt up garage rock and The Stooges in a blast of distortion, and this year's Diet of Worms added more movement to the battering without making anything noticeably friendlier.
