Ashley Holmes (b. Luton, 1990) is a Sheffield based multidisciplinary artist, DJ and broadcaster
interested in sonic processes and alternative forms of knowledge production. Ranging across
sound, drawing, site-specific installations, performance, radio broadcasts and collaborative
projects, his practice experiments with spatial arrangement, multiplicity and methods of
co-learning and collaboration.
Ashley has hosted Tough Matter, a monthly show on NTS Radio since 2017. He is also a
resident on Mondo Radio and at No Bounds Festival. He facilitates Open Deck, a series of
gatherings started in 2018, giving space to collectively listen and hold discursive space around
relationships to music, sound, memory and oral histories.
Recently Ashley has shared work and performed at Turner Contemporary, Margate; Lothringer
13, Munich; FACT Liverpool; Horst Music Festival, Brussels; Auto Italia South East, London;
Montez Press Radio; Frieze Live, London; Leeds Art Gallery and more. He is a lecturer in Fine
Art at Liverpool John Moores University
